Getting the heritage look with aluminium

Separate the appearance you like from the opening mechanism and specification you need.

Heritage is a look, not one mechanism

Divided panes, bar detailing and stepped framing can help create a traditional appearance. Heritage-style products may still open in different ways: a window on hinges, a single door, a pair of French doors or folding bifold panels. Start by choosing the movement your space needs.

Pay attention to the whole elevation

Look at the proportions of the opening, bar positions and neighbouring windows. A colour or bar pattern that works in one photograph may feel different across a full extension. A straight-on photograph or drawing can help Dolly understand the intended result.

Heritage Bifold and Heritage Bifold Three Bar are separate choices on the website. The illustration shows the intended character; the final bar positions and construction need confirming.

Do not infer approval or performance

A heritage or steel-look description does not mean a product is made from steel, matches every historic detail or is automatically acceptable for a protected property. Where permissions or specific design requirements apply, have those checked by the appropriate project adviser before ordering.

Build a coherent request

Tell Dolly which products will sit together and share the appearance you want. Each window or door still needs its own size, opening and specification check. That keeps the visual brief clear without treating different systems as interchangeable.
