Handles and fingerpulls: what is the difference?

Choose the operating arrangement first, then let Dolly check the model and finish.

The job comes before the finish

A window handle, bifold master-door handle, sliding-door handle and passive fingerpull perform different jobs. They cannot be selected simply because their photographs or colours look similar. Start by describing how you need to open, close and access the product.

Inside and outside access may differ

The Sheerline Lift and Slide survey offers an inside handle with an outside fingergrip, or handles on both sides. A fingergrip gives something to pull; it is not the same as an outside operating or locking handle. Make your access needs clear before choosing a finish.

A passive fingerpull on a folding arrangement is auxiliary hardware. Whether it is needed, included or optional depends on the exact assembly. It should not be treated as a universal add-on.

A named catalogue item still needs a match

The supplier must match hardware to the system, handing, spindle, lock and other relevant details. Where the website only has a type preference, Dolly still needs to confirm the exact model. An illustrative diagram or CGI is not evidence of physical compatibility.

Record what matters to you

Choose a supported preference or Help me choose, then add any access concerns in the notes. Ask Dolly to confirm the model, inside/outside arrangement and finish in the final quotation. Do not assume every finish listed for one handle is available on another.
